Welcome back everyone. Today’s level matters because the S&P 500 is sitting directly on its Hurst baseline, making this a key decision point between continued strength and a developing cyclical pullback.
As of August 7, the index is at 7,762 , exactly matching the Hurst trend baseline. The aggregated ProjectedClose is also 7,762, while the immediate projection range runs from roughly 7,715 to 7,810 .
For the next couple of weeks, the model projects a modest decline first. ProjectedClose falls toward 7,686 to 7,685 around August 12 through 14, followed by a rebound toward approximately 7,741 around August 20 and 21.
That rebound appears temporary. The next larger projected downswing carries ProjectedClose toward roughly 7,557 by early September, with the cycle low concentrated around September 14 through 22 near 7,466 .
Support is initially near 7,736 , with resistance around 7,788 . A sustained move above resistance would challenge the near-term bearish path, while a break below support would increase the probability of the lower projected targets.
Momentum has already produced several turns, and the next notable forecast marker is a low setup around August 12 to 14. A high setup appears around August 20 to 21, followed by another high-to-low transition in mid-September.
There is also an important bottoming signal in the recent data: the index closed below its lower Bollinger Band while volatility closed above its upper band. That kind of setup can produce rebounds, but it does not automatically end the broader cyclical decline.
The cycle contributions are becoming less supportive overall. The shorter cycles may help generate the August rebound, but the 60-day, 74-day, and especially longer 206-day cycle contributions turn increasingly negative into September and beyond.
Seasonality is not separately quantified in this table, so I would treat it as secondary. The clearer message comes from the cycle structure: short-term stabilization, followed by increasing downside pressure into September.
Looking three to six months out, the aggregated ProjectedClose remains well below today’s 7,762 level, reaching approximately 7,340 in early December before a modest recovery. For now, traders should watch 7,736 support , 7,788 resistance , and whether the August rebound can reclaim the upper projection band.
