NVIDIA Corp. (NVDA) Price Forecast: Can NVDA Break Above Key Resistance?

Author: Bruce Powers

Updated: July 24, 2026

Key Points

  • NVDA is currently testing a key support zone near $199.52.
  • Stronger support is identified at the 50-week moving average, currently at $189.61.
  • Resistance is noted near $214.39, which is a critical breakout level.
  • An inverse head-and-shoulders pattern may indicate a bullish reversal.
  • A breakout above $214.39 could target $226.54 initially, with further upside potential to $265.43.

Support Structure Builds Beneath NVDA

NVIDIA Corporation (NVDA) shares have been testing support near a confluence of three dynamic support indicators. A retracement low of $189.80 was established three weeks ago, followed by signs of strength, with a series of higher weekly highs and higher lows indicating improving demand after a 61.8% Fibonacci retracement of the prior advance.

The weekly chart shows NVDA at $206.84 within a rising channel, above the 20-SMA at $199.54, and holding the 61.80% Fibonacci level at $191.88, with an RSI of 54.81.

$214.39 Breakout Test

A resistance zone has formed near the highs of the last seven weeks. An attempt to break out above $213.99 was made this week but failed to hold, closing below that high at $206.84. The week’s high of $214.39 is now the top of the range. A sustained move above this resistance would confirm that buyers have regained control.

The daily chart indicates an inverse head-and-shoulders formation, with an RSI of 51.07, suggesting potential bullish momentum.

A Bullish Pattern Emerges at Long-Term Support

The larger market environment, as seen in the weekly chart, enhances the potential of the daily pattern for NVDA. The daily chart confirms recent dynamic support, with the 100-day and 200-day moving averages defining similar price zones. A bullish inverse head-and-shoulders pattern has formed at long-term trend support.

Fibonacci Targets Map the Upside Path

An upside breakout above $214.39 would signal a reversal of the recent decline. Initial upside targets are indicated by the 78.6% Fibonacci retracement at $226.54, followed by a 127.2% Fibonacci extension at $265.43. This positions NVDA for potential growth, provided recent support is not broken to the downside. Holding the established support zone is critical, while a sustained breakout above $214.39 would strengthen the bullish case and open the door to higher targets.

Conclusion

NVIDIA's current price action suggests a critical juncture where the stock could either break out to the upside or face further declines. Investors should closely monitor the support levels and the resistance at $214.39 to gauge the next potential movement in NVDA's stock price.
