Gold, Silver, and Platinum Market Analysis

Author: Vladimir Zernov

Published: July 24, 2026

Key Highlights

  • Gold prices have risen above the $4050 mark.
  • Silver has increased towards the $59.00 level due to heightened demand for precious metals.
  • Platinum markets remain stable ahead of the weekend.

Gold Market Overview

Gold is experiencing upward movement as traders respond to a decline in oil prices, which have dropped by 4%. This decrease is attributed to ongoing negotiations between the U.S. and Iran, mediated by Pakistan. President Trump has indicated potential for increased military action, while Iran has promised retaliation, creating uncertainty in the market.

As oil prices fall, Treasury yields have also decreased, with the 2-year Treasury yield dropping to 4.32% and the 10-year yield settling around 4.67%. This decline in yields supports gold, which does not yield interest. However, the Federal Reserve's hawkish stance remains a concern, with a 55.4% probability of a 25 basis point rate hike in September, which could negatively impact gold prices.

The U.S. dollar has remained stable against other currencies, not significantly affecting gold's price dynamics. Gold has managed to hold above the support level of $4020-$4050 and is attempting to establish itself above $4050. A successful move could lead to testing the resistance level of $4180-$4200. Conversely, if it tests the support level of $4020-$4040 successfully, it may drop to the next support level of $3930-$3950.

Silver Market Analysis

Silver has rebounded as the gold/silver ratio has fallen below 69.50. If this ratio remains low, it could trend towards 68.00, which would be bullish for silver. Technically, silver has not settled below the support level of $56.00-$57.00 and has moved towards $59.00. If silver can maintain above $59.00, it may reach the resistance level of $61.00-$62.00, which has proven strong in previous tests. A breakthrough above $62.00 could push silver towards the 50-day moving average at $65.45.

Platinum Market Status

Platinum prices are relatively flat as traders assess their next moves amidst falling oil prices and lower Treasury yields. Currently, platinum is hovering around the $1600 level. If it fails to hold above the support level of $1600-$1620, it may drop to the next support level of $1500-$1520. A decline below $1500 could lead to further downside momentum. Conversely, for platinum to gain upward momentum, it needs to settle above $1620, targeting resistance at $1680-$1700.

Conclusion

The precious metals market is influenced by various factors, including oil prices, Treasury yields, and Federal Reserve policies. Gold, silver, and platinum are all showing distinct movements, with gold and silver currently in a more favorable position compared to platinum. Traders should remain vigilant of market developments, particularly regarding geopolitical tensions and economic indicators that could impact these precious metals.
