When Will Microsoft Report Its Latest Earnings?

Microsoft Corp. is set to release its fourth quarter (Q4) 2026 results after the US market closes on Thursday, 30 July 2026, at 4:00 AM (GMT+8).

Highlights from the Previous Quarter

Microsoft entered this quarter with strong momentum from Q3, where it exceeded both revenue and earnings expectations:

  • Revenue: $82.9 billion, up 18% year-on-year (YoY), beating expectations of $81.39 billion.
  • Adjusted Earnings Per Share (EPS): $4.27, surpassing the consensus of $4.06.
  • Cloud Revenue: $54.5 billion (+29% YoY).
  • Azure and other cloud services: 40% growth (constant currency).
  • Copilot paid seats: Surpassed 20 million, up more than 250% YoY.

CEO Satya Nadella noted that the results reflect the growing demand for cloud and AI solutions.

Despite these strong numbers, Microsoft's share price fell 3.93% to $407.78, as investors were concerned about the ~$190 billion capital expenditure (capex) guidance for calendar 2026, which was significantly higher than expected due to rising memory and component costs.

Summary of Microsoft's Fiscal Year (FY) 2026 Q3 Results

Key segment highlights from Q3 included:

  • Intelligent Cloud revenue: $34.7 billion, up 30% YoY.
  • Productivity and Business Processes revenue: $35 billion, rising 17% YoY.
  • More Personal Computing revenue: $13.2 billion, slightly down YoY.

What to Look for in Q4 2026?

Microsoft provided Q4 revenue guidance of $86.7 – $87.8 billion, with the market expecting an EPS of $4.24. Key areas of focus include:

  • Azure momentum and capacity: Will Microsoft achieve another ~40% growth quarter?
  • Capex and return on investment (ROI) visibility: Investors seek reassurance on the effectiveness of the ~$190 billion AI infrastructure investments.
  • Copilot adoption and monetization: Updates on seat growth and revenue contribution.
  • Margin trends: The impact of AI-related costs on cloud gross margins.
  • FY2027 outlook: Early commentary on next year's expectations regarding AI demand and spending levels.

Microsoft Technical Analysis

The stock broke below its late-March swing low of $356.51 but found support at $349.20. A strong earnings report could push the stock towards the 200-day moving average at $438.77, while a disappointing report could lead to a decline towards $280.
