Market Analysis Summary: Natural Gas and Oil Forecasts

Published: March 26, 2026

Key Highlights

  • Natural gas prices have increased by 4.50% following a significant draw in storage.
  • WTI oil prices surged by 4.19% due to geopolitical tensions in the Middle East.
  • Brent oil rose by 3.67%, approaching the $109.00 mark as traders anticipate military actions in Iran.

Natural Gas Market Overview

Natural gas prices are currently testing resistance levels between $3.00 and $3.05. The recent EIA Weekly Natural Gas Storage Report indicated a larger-than-expected draw of 54 Bcf, compared to the forecast of 44 Bcf. This has provided bullish momentum, with current stocks being 90 Bcf higher than last year and 14 Bcf above the five-year average.

If natural gas successfully breaks above the $3.05 resistance, it could target the next level at $3.25 to $3.30.

WTI Oil Market Dynamics

WTI oil prices have rallied significantly as traders reacted to President Trump's ambiguous comments regarding the potential for a deal with Iran. Iran has rejected a U.S.-proposed plan to end hostilities and instead demands reparations, which has heightened concerns about ongoing conflict in the region.

WTI oil has settled above the $90.00 resistance and is attempting to break through the $95.00 level. A successful breach could lead to testing the $97.00 to $97.50 range, with a psychological target of $100 looming.

Brent Oil Outlook

Brent oil is also experiencing upward momentum, driven by fears of a ground operation in Iran. Currently, Brent trades at a premium to WTI due to the geopolitical risks associated with the conflict. The immediate resistance for Brent is at $108.50 to $109.00, and if surpassed, it could rise towards $118.50 to $119.00, indicating a potential panic in the market.

Conclusion

The current market conditions for natural gas and oil are heavily influenced by geopolitical tensions, particularly regarding Iran. Traders are closely monitoring these developments, which could lead to further price volatility in the coming days.
