XRP Eyes Recovery to $1.55 as RLUSD Market Cap Grows by 50%

By Alejandro Arrieche | Published: Sep 12, 2026

Key Points

  • Stable inflation in the U.S. last month led to a brief rally in XRP, which did not break its consolidation pattern.
  • The market cap of Ripple’s stablecoin, RLUSD, increased by 50% following Ripple Prime’s $290 million funding round.
  • XRP has recently bounced off the $1.32 support level and appears poised for recovery.

Market Overview

XRP remains the top-performing asset among the top five cryptocurrencies, boasting a 36% gain, despite the broader crypto market struggling to regain momentum amid ongoing macroeconomic challenges. Recent inflation data in the U.S. showed a 3.4% year-over-year increase, aligning closely with market expectations.

Although month-on-month inflation exceeded analysts' predictions by 20 basis points, the market initially reacted positively, leading to a rally. However, this rally was short-lived, as many tokens failed to maintain their gains, indicating significant volatility and uncertainty among investors regarding the end of the previous bearish cycle.

RLUSD Market Cap Surge

The market cap of Ripple USD (RLUSD) surged from $1.6 billion to $2.4 billion in just one month, reflecting increased adoption and usage of the stablecoin. This growth is attributed to Ripple's focus on expanding its prime brokerage business, supported by a recent $290 million funding round, which has likely driven higher trading volumes for RLUSD.

XRP Price Analysis

On the daily chart, XRP has formed a bull flag pattern following the late-August rally, indicating a phase of consolidation. Despite a recent bounce off the $1.32 support level, selling pressure remains around the $1.40 mark. The Relative Strength Index (RSI) is currently at 53, suggesting that bullish momentum is still present.

As long as XRP stays above the $1.32 support, it is expected to resume its upward trajectory. A breakout from the current flag pattern could signal a move towards higher price targets. However, the downward slope of the flag indicates that sellers are currently outpacing buyers, and the market may require additional bullish catalysts, such as favorable regulatory news from the SEC, to break out of its current consolidation phase.
